Week 11 in Jamaica

Hey Everyone!

So this week has been up and down for me. On P-Day last week I went to the doctor because I have been fighting this stupid little fungus called ringworm that is on my right arm. I have had it ever since I got to Junction two months ago. I have controlled it so it hasn't spread very far or big it just wont go away though... So I took some pills that the doctor gave me for it and they put me down and out for Tuesday! I was so drowsy all day Tuesday! I could hardly stay awake in studies! So we stayed in that day and I slept for hours haha! Wednesday was awesome! We had a missionary training broadcast and we learned about Teaching Repentance, Baptize Converts! And then ALL the missionaries all over the world got a new Schedule! It is so weird but it is nice to use our agency! Thursday we went and did some more farming except this time it was carrots and all we did was spread grass all over the ground over the carrots. It was nice to do some more service! Friday we had a lesson with Troy and he is working on not smoking ganja anymore! He is working so hard to try and quit! The lesson we had with him was alright though. He was having withdrawals from not smoking at all for two days! Then Friday night my bike broke again and we had to walk a loooooong ways to get back to the apartment... UP HILL.... I have pictures of this man named Norman that we met down in the area it broke down in called Lititz. So a couple weeks ago Elder Christensen and I found $1500 Jamaican dollars and we have been praying to know who to give it too. Then while Norman was trying to fix my bike Elder Christensen reaches into his pocket after we get it fixed and hands him the money. Norman looked at us like,"What?" He wouldnt take it at first but we wouldnt take no for an answer and he almost started to cry! It was such an amazing feeling! He thanked us then we went on our way! He was so humble about it and it was just amazing! Then Saturday we went to Black River for another missionaries baptism and it was beautiful! Baptized in the ocean!

Anyways that was my week and I learned something from Troy that I will never forget.
He said the words that I have heard before but they hit me harder when he said them than before. "Put the bad things aside and focus on the Lord and He will help you past the bad things."

So simple. I wish everyone could think like that!

Wen oonu come back to me yad??

week 10 in Jamaica

Hey Guys! This week has has been a Blast! First we started off the week with farming! And guess what they were planting.... Potatoes.... hahaha Funny huh? Anyways, we did that on Tuesday and I forgot my camera so Elder Christensen has the pictures for that one! My mother with have to get them from his mother! Okay so we had trade offs with the other elders in junction and it was a blast as well! Elder Callister and I went down in to my area and we had an awesome lesson with a man named Troy! He is going to try and be Baptized on Feb. 18th! So hopefully he will be ready by then! Then through out the week we would stop by and have more lessons with him! He is awesome! Then we had a conference with an Elder from the area 70 over the Caribbean! He is awesome! I learned so much from him! He really wanted all of the members in this area to work together and effectively! We will definitely see how that goes! But that was a big boost to our confidence! I saw Elder Harris that night too! It was awesome to see him there in Maypen! It took us two hours to get to the meeting! Then 2 cramped taxi rides back home that night!

Alright so this morning, because I'm getting fat...Elder Christensen and I went for a nice little run! It started to sprinkle on us but it felt so nice! I am out of shape let me tell ya... But I haven't been eating dinner for the last week so I can start to cut back on fat haha. But don't worry I'm doing fine eating wise.  Jamaicans don't starve out here haha!

One sad moment we had this week was from an investigator that we had such a strong lesson with. He told us after that lesson that he could feel the authority that we have and that he could feel the spirit so strong in the lesson. So we tried staying in touch with him but couldn't. Until yesterday when we caught him at home. He walked outside with the Book of Mormon in his hand, walked up to us , handed us the Book and said that he wasn't interested, turned around and walked away before we could even reply to him. Left my heart on pause for like 10 minutes... It hurt to see him turn his back on the Lord and His Gospel... But that is his choice.

I still love this work even though I know people are going to deny and reject it.

Hope you all have been reading the Book of Mormon!

Week 9 in Jamaica 🇯🇲

Hey guys!
So I have fixed my bike! No more walking around for Elder Christensen and I! We have had a lot of tire problems though so we have had to fight that struggle for a couple days! But its fixed now. I started to get blisters on my feet! But they are gone now.
Alright so this week I got to meet the sisters that were in my mtc district and man was I excited to see them! We had a zone pday and it was a blast! We played minute to win it and we had lots of fun games! Got crammed into the back of a van on the way home like usual though... We met a lot of rasta men this week too! They all told us that their names were rasta fari.... They were so funny! then we ran into a guy whose name is james! We had a weird contact with him but it was great! We taught him how to pray, answered a few questions he had about his tattoos, the next life, all sorts of stuff! He was walking to work and we talked to him for almost an hour! He was so willing to meet with us and he excepted a book of mormon on contact! it was really amazing to see this man light up after answering a few questions! We met a few other people that were very interesting but nothing compared to james! for my personal studies i have been reading the Bible and it is SOOOO hard to follow everything in it right now... I am in Exodes right now and its getting pretty interesting but still hard to follow! I challenged everyone to read the Book of Mormon back home so i hope everyone is doing that! You all better email me saying that you have started to read from it! it will change your life! The branch here is slowly getting bigger! Even though we havent had any other baptisms yet we are activating a lot of Less actives! it is great to see the branch grow and become more united! the food is sooo good here im getting fat... i weighed 165lbs when i first enterd the mtc. now i weigh 180lbs... not good!!!! But i have heard that you only gain weigh in junction so its all good! Anyways, I love you all! I hope you are all having a happy new year and growing in your faith in Christ! If you arent growing you are losing it.

Likle more ma youts!

Week 8 in Jamaica

Hey guys!

Hows every one back home?? Email me how you guys are doing because i want to hear from you guys as well!

Anyways so this week we meet a man and his fiance and he is looking for the right church to marry into! The only thing is that he has to get divorced first haha... Sticky situation but I know the Lord will prove the means for him to over come his challenges. We have been biking soooooo much this last week because everyone we meet that is willing to meet with us lives so far away! It takes us 30 minutes to bike home, uphill, from one of our investigators! it is worth the time and energy though because I know that what we are teaching them is what they need in their lives. I am getting the hang of biking uphill 24/7 though so obviously I'm getting swoll out here. haha well I bought a new bike and I had it for like 3 days and it broke on me while we were 20 minutes walk away from home... that was fun... so we have been walking every where for the last two days. But hey, there is a reason for everything! Obviously we are supposed to meet some one while walking instead of flying by them on our bikes!

The rest of my MTC district arrived this last week and I cant wait to see some of them today at our zone P-Day!

Jamaica is an awesome place to live! We get called whitey every day haha so if i go home and call some one black or brown they can not get mad because I get called whitey every day. I'm not a whitey, I am a Jamaican! Junction me bon! On a likle missionary work ya ze meh? I live dung the road from deh. But I am running out of time here so please email me!

Love you all and Trust in God and his timing!

Week 7 in Jamaica

Hey guys!

So this week has been pretty boring actually. Nothing exciting going on as far as i can think of either. But things are still looking upwards here in Junction! We met this Man named Trevor and we had an on the spot lesson with him and it was awesome! He lost his mother at a really young age so he doesn't remember her at all, he was raised by his grandparents because his dad dropped him off and left. His grandma died a couple years ago and his is single. He is looking for the Truth behind all the confusion on all the other churches and why there are so many. So we taught him the Restoration and he understood everything we taught him! From Prophets to priesthood to Joseph Smith! He soaked it all up! It was awesome to see how well he took it all. We haven't been able to contact him because he doesn't have a working phone right now and we cant catch him at home..

Its hard to believe that I have been on my mission for two months now! Its crazy how fast time is flying! The work we are doing is going to bless everyone sooner or later because every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess! I hope and pray that my testimony touches someones life. if it didn't I challenge EVERYONE to go watch Elder Holland's talk on the Book of Mormon and to listen to his testimony. I can promise you it WILL change you life. I watched it right after i finished reading the Book of Mormon and it just caps it all off. Please read, watch, pray, and then listen for the Spirit to testify of ALL the truth that is in the Book of Mormon because it is a powerful tool no matter how you look at what is in it!

For God so love da world that he sent his ony digidigi boy pikne! Patois (Patwa) is the Celestial language!
One Love from Jamaica my Yoot!!
