Week 19

You don't burn your tie until the completion of your 6th month mother haha. Yes time is going by a lot faster than I thought it would! ( this part was for me - Jennie)

Well we are actually teaching one person right now. Nioka is the only one we haven't dropped because she's the only one that is keeping commitments. We are about to do a lot of finding for new people to teach this week. That means that we are going to be getting blisters... No poko poko(no good)
This week has been a little different. Not too much to talk about this week besides the fact that Elder Harris ran into the back of a car that decided to stop in the road! The guy got out of his car, looked at the dented licence plate, looked at Elder Harris and said "ya good mon ya good mon" And we left haha! Before all that we went and played basketball with elders Lewis and Elliott, did service for a lady that stays in the same yard as us, chopped yard for her. Then we had lunch with the Elders then ran into the back of that car on our way to do more service for Sister Duhaney. We were about to start climbing the hill on our bikes when Elder Harris's bicycle decided to break... We called the Zone Leaders to come pick us up so we could got shower and start tracting instead. Yeah it's been a rough week for him bicycle wise. Saturday we did more service for that lady in her garden then went to finish Sister Duhaney's floor that we started last week. I have pictures of it. We spend all day Saturday doing service. Oh and Elder Call is now in our district! He got to Spanish Town on Thursday! He is in our district now. I'll send pictures. Sunday has to be the most interesting day this week by far! So our bishop teaches gospel principles class and there is this member who is pretty talkative and not afraid to voice her opinions. So Bishop asked a question to the class and she pipes up and gets WAAAAAYYYY off topic! Then this investigator that has been coming to church for months now voiced her opinion after her and then another investigator voiced his opinion too! It almost started a huge argument and bishop almost couldn't stop it! But luckily he did but still the lesson didn't go very well... We went and asked him what we could do to help him and he did that we will be in touch so I'm praying that we can help him keep them in control next week. Anyways that's all for this week. Not too much happening this week after we dropped all our investigators...

Love you all! Let me know how things are going back home!

Week 18

Hey guys!

So this week has been something else. Started off playing soccer last Monday for a Zone P-Day. I rolled my ankle, of course, then we went and watched The Best Two Years. It was a fun day! A lot of the Elders ordered pizza as well! Tuesday we had District meeting and Elder Gibbons challenged me to eat a full large pizza and a medium cookshop with had rice, chicken and pasta in it. I almost did it! I ate all of the cookshop and almost the whole pizza! Only two pieces left when I threw in the towel... Needless to say, my stomach hated me and pained me for the rest of the day... Wednesday we went and saw an investigator who is a members daughter. She has been coming to church for over a month now but isn't sure if she wants to be baptized again. She was first baptized at the age of twelve into a church by her own choice. Later on she was pretty much forced to be baptized into a church she was attending that was closer to her home. We saw her three times this last week and every meeting has been really good! She has lots of questions that we answered but still isn't sure about the Priesthood. .. She is still in school so it's pretty tough to see her during the day. So we started riding JUTC buses or also know as charter buses. Thursday we did service for that same family! She had some old wood flooring that was pulled out of a hotel or something. So we rode our bikes up to their place, started putting this floor together for 2-3 hours then left because we had things to do back home. But on the way down the hill from their house Elder Harris thinks he needs to wreck his bicycle! He was turning a soft turn and hit a lot a loose gravel a little too fast. I was behind him and watched as his bicycle went to the right and Elder Harris kept going straight. He slid on his stomach for about 10 yards! Cut up his hands and his chin bounced off the ground! I'll send some pictures of it! Friday we didn't get much done because it rained pretty much all day! Friday night we went to the church for Friday night activities and we were playing chair soccer. You have 3 or more people who put chairs in the corners of the room and you have to kick the ball at the other people's chair to get then out. We had been playing for a while when I accidentally kick the ball up off the ground and hits this little girl that was watching us right in the head! Her head snapped back and then she fell forward and covered her head. I walked over there and apologized for hitting her and so on. We ended up not playing that game any more... Oops... Saturday was transfer calls and Elder Harris and I will be staying together for another transfer! We will spend our 6 month mark together and burn our ties together with Elder Call who is coming to Spanish Town as well! Sunday Elder Harris towed B. Gorgie to church and we gave blessings to church members as well. Later that night while on our way home from a members house that fed us dinner, Elder Harris wanted to try an endo on his bicycle. In other words he wrecked... again...
It has been an interesting week but it's all part of God's plan for us out here in Jamaica!
Loving the work and praying for the best for All who read this. Stay strong in the hard times. If you think things are hard and you want them to past, "just remember that some one much greater has asked that very question."-Elder Holland

Week 17

Hey Guys!
This week has been a roller coaster ride that's for sure! We had some good lessons with people then ended up getting dropped by two of them... One of them was a young women named Chanise. She is single, with a baby boy, and is living with her baby daddy. Breaking the law of chastity... But she was doing so well! She had the strong desire to be baptised and to be sealed in the temple and stuff but one night we sent us a text message and said that she can't have lessons anymore! Elder Harris and I we devastated!  The other girl was a Witness and she couldn't understand the Book of Mormon because she had the New World Translation but the Jdubs... Sad to see all the people that we dropped as well because they weren't progressing...

We got caught in a down pour! I have a video that I will send! It has rained a lot this week! Too much for me... and it is a salty rain! Groooosssss!!

I gave Elder Harris a drink from my coconut a week or so ago and he didn't like it! What a punk! I bought another one this last week and tried to give him some but he didn't want any... Coconut water is really good for you for imma drink it a lot!

Sunday we were at a members home for dinner. We go there every Sunday and they know us fairly well. We started talking about horses and stuff and they tried throwing in a southern cowboy accent! It was funny! Elder Harris just took it and went with it haha!

This next week Elder Harris and I will be focusing on the Less Actives and Inactive members. We will be taxiing all over our area! Too many LA members in our area... But what do you do?
Hopefully every one is reading the Book of Mormon!!

Today is zone P-Day so I'm gonna go play futball.  Not football, futball....Sadly...

Have a great week every one!

Love and respect,
Elder Wilding

Week 16

Hey guys! Sorry to hear about the snow in old Idaho. But its okay i'm over here in sunny Jamaica. Just let that sink in;)

So this last week has been pretty boring honestly. Not much happened. I started setting goals for myself after my mission and so I'm excited for those! We had interviews with President Pearson on Thursday and i feel like him and i see eye to eye on a lot of things! He asked me how i felt about a goal that he has set for all the companionships in the mission. I told him that it applies a little stress but stress is good out here especially for the goal that he set baptism wise! I told him that the goal he set for us pushes the missionaries to be responsible for the investigators. It helps people handle stress positively. It helps people learn how to push themselves to achieve what has been set in front of them.

THERE IS NO GROWTH IN THE COMFORT ZONE AND THERE IS NO COMFORT IN THE GROWTH ZONE!
President Pearson is truly inspired and he has set awesome goals for this mission!

One exciting thing that happened this last week!! Elder Harris and i were up in this area called Central Village and we found this old Volkswagon Bus! I stopped, took a picture of it, looked around, found myself alone with Elder Harris, walked over and took the VW of the front of it!! It was so funny!! "You just got 20 points added to your Man Card Elder!"-Elder Harris. I will send pictures!! It was hilarious!

We have this young lady whose mother is a member of the Church so she has been coming to sacrament with her and what not. So Elder Harris and i got her address so we could go up and teach her. We set up a meeting with her this last Saturday and the meeting went very well! She has been baptized twice into two different churches. The first one was her choice and the second on was forced on her. So she wants to know where the truth is! She is concerned with baptism and if she needs to be baptized for the 3rd time! We were supposed to meet with her after church yesterday but she was out of church faster than we could say pizza! It was crazy! We couldn't find her anywhere! But we are planning on seeing her on Saturday again to teach her the plan of salvation!

Well this week wasn't as interesting and i'm sorry for that but i hope you guys learn to set goals for yourselves that push you out of your comfort zone!
