Hello everyone! I am finally back in Nassau now!
Monday
was a Bahamas Zone Conference so we spent the day in Mandeville have a
conference with the entire off-island zone which includes the Turks
Sisters, Cayman Elders, Freeport Elders, and the Nassau Elders. Is was
cool to have our own conference in person and not over a computer
screen! It was fun!
Tuesday
was our P-Day and I spent it with Elder Jensen. We sent off some
packages which took us a lot longer than it should have! We also spent
most of the day packing and playing card games with the other Elders.
That night we were picked up by the Office Elders to be taken to
Kingston for the night. We stayed with the Assistants in their really
nice house! Hot water and a/c!
Wednesday
morning we left for Nassau! We flew to Miami then to Nassau. When we
got back we were picked up by former Elder Senior and Brother Whitney in
Sister Seawell's car! It was a huge surprise to us! Oh, and while we
were waiting for them 4 Roles Royce cars roll up to the airport picking
up tourists to take them to their hotels. I have a picture with one!
Anyways, we spent most of that night cleaning and reorganizing the
house. Wednesday was also my little brother, Zane's, birthday! Too bad I wasn't there to harass him but oh well! He knows I love him!
Thursday
was weird too. We spent the morning cleaning the house. And drove
around Nassau taking Elder Craig to meet all the members that were at
work. We stopped by Del Sol to see Brother Ferdinand and Marco, we went
to see Brother Pierre at Curly's, then went to a frozen yogurt place
with Sister Charlene and Melda. That place was sooo good!
Friday
we spent at the house having weekly planning. Afterwards we spent most
of the day calling people to set up appointments for the coming week. We
stopped by Sandra to see how she was doing and Dacorya tells us that
she has a ton of questions for us! So we tell her to write them all down
and we would pick them up on Saturday.
Saturday
morning we went shopping to get Calvin Seawell something for his
birthday, had lunch then made a bunch of phone calls again before we had
coordination at 4 at the Seawell's. Following Coordination we had
dinner with the Seawell's and celebrated Calvin's birthday. The
Seawell's are so nice! They gave us a ton of food to take home with us
as well! We went to see Sandra again but we couldn't get a male to go
with us so we just picked up the list of questions from Dacorya and went
home to answer them for her.
Sunday
was the best! All the members were so happy to see us back in Nassau!
All of them missed us! After church we went to the Ferdinand's for
Haitian food, tried to see Sandra again but her boys had to leave so we
couldn't have the lesson. We did drop off some of the answers to her
questions though so that was good. We went and talked with Brother
Pierre about preparing for the temple! That was an awesome lesson! I am
super excited to see him go through the temple! On our way home we
stopped by Jackson and Maria. They thought that we had forgotten about
them! We had an awesome lesson on Faith and Leaps of Faith and committed
them to come to church and to hold a family prayer every night. They
also gave us some strawberry cheesecake! Don't worry Grandma, hers
wasn't as good as yours! Also, my Grandpa's birthday was this day!
Turning the big 70! I love you Grandpa!!
Right now I am honestly too exhausted to type a huge spiritual message.
But please, please, please continue in your personal prayers and
studies! I know that Heavenly Father will bless you for those actions. I
love you all! Hold to the Rod.✊🏼

Week 44
I hope that I never walk this much, in dress shoes, again. My feet are
so sore from walking on rocky roads, dirt roads, and roads in general!
Get me back to a car!😭
Monday was a Zone P-Day so we went to see some members in the morning then went to Mandeville for the Zone P-Day. Elder Christensen and Elder Call were there, the Freeport Elders were there and the Turks Sisters were there. Almost the entire Bahamas Zone was there except for the Elders in Cayman. It was a blast! We played lots of basketball, football, board games, but mainly Knockout or Lightning. It was fun to see all the Elders and Sisters that I haven't seen in a long time!
Tuesday was full of walking and hardly seeing anyone... We walked a lot which caused my feet to be in pain but that's okay because we spent some time at the church. Elder Craig didn't get the chance to email his family on Monday so he emailed on Tuesday. We walked the Freeport Elders to our house so they could see if they wanted to move in with us as well. We spent most of the evening cleaning the house so they could move in with us. We also ordered Dominoes Pizza🙌🏼
Wednesday morning the Freeport Elders moved in with us. The Gotfredson's moved them in. We all ate lunch at the house then we went on trade offs with each other. We went in groups of three so we could see women without having to worry about having a male there. I went with Elders Jensen and Pankratz. Elders Craig, Gilson, and Shaffer went together too. It was a pretty good day I guess. A lot of walking like usual but we had two lessons so not too bad. That night we went to Juiceys to get patties then bought ice cream because we could. Not the smartest idea but oh well. It sure tasted good though. At the house that night we all started walking the Other Side of Heaven. Never seen it before but I thought it was a pretty good movie.
Thursday was district meeting with the May Pen district... it is weird to be having a district meeting other than the Bahamas district meeting! But oh well. We went to get lunch with the district then went back to the house to prep for the rest of the day. As we were doing so it started to rain. For the rest of the evening.... We stayed inside due to rain but, we still had fun with the other Elders! We had our own little draft for the NFL and we debated who would win out of our teams! It was fun!
Friday we spent the morning weekly planning. This planning session was weird as well because we planned for May Pen and for Nassau because we weren't sure if we would be leaving or not. That afternoon we talked about what we were gonna do with the six of us that were there. We decided to split into Trios so that we could see women in the branch. Elder Jensen, Elder Shaffer and I went out and Elder Craig, Elder Pankratz, and Elder Gibson went out to see the people that Elder Craig and I started to work with. Then we went to Friday night activities and watched movies with the Branch!
Saturday Elder Jensen wasn't feeling good so Elder Craig took Elder Pankratz and Elder Gilson took Elder Shaffer out to see members and investigators while I stayed with Elder Jensen. Elder Jensen and I became Bros!😂 It was a weird day but oh well! It was fun getting to know him.
Sunday we got to church early because the Sisters wanted to practice a song for Sacrament Meeting. Jevon Hudson from Junction was there again! Jevon's papers are in SLC now being Processed for his mission! I can't wait to hear where he goes! After church Elder Craig and I taught Mission Prep. It was weird but fun. When we got home we started packing that way we were already to leave this coming Wednesday! We spent the rest of the evening packing.
How is everyone doing on all the challenges that I have extended?! I hope that everyone is putting the Church first in all that they do! What about Book of Mormon reading? I have now read the Book of Mormon 3 times and am now starting to read Doctrine and Covenants. I'm in section 30 now and I have already heard the voice of the Lord more in it than the Book of Mormon! I love the scriptures and every time I read them, I get a boost of faith, hope, charity, and love for everyone! I promise you all that if you read them as well, you will feel the Spirit more abundantly in your lives! I know this to be the work of the Lord! Without a doubt in my heart! I am truly grateful to be out here serving our Father and Savior! I love you all!

Week 43 ... HOLY COW

Well, this last week was eventful!
Monday we spend most of the morning doing visa stuff for other missionaries to come out to the the Bahamas, went to Del Sol for like an hour, hung out with Brother Pierre right before his tour, meet some members on a cruise ship, then went to the church to email. Later that evening we went to buy jugs of water to prepare for the hurricane and while we were there, there were tons of people waiting for the jugs to show up. A truck pulls up with cases of bottled water so we started to help them unload the truck and stack it in the storage container so the truck could go get the big jugs faster. Once the jugs showed up, people went crazy. They lost all the little bit of patience that they had left in them. It was a mad house so again, we stepped in to help get it all organized and started to pack the jugs of water to people's cars as they paid for them. It helped the crowd calm down and it took a load of stress off the workers. We got 3 jugs of water free for helping them. It was nice to help them all out. They loved it.
Tuesday was crazy! So first thing in the morning we had district meeting. We then took the water jugs to the Seawell's house to store them. While we are there, sister Seawell tells us they they were being evacuated out of Nassau for Hurricane Irma. So we call the Assistants to tell them what's going on and they made the decision to pull us out of Nassau. So the rest of the day we spent packing up all of our clothes and all of the Books of Mormon into the lower bathroom to keep them save and every other valuable thing. We took a lot of stuff to the Seawell's house to leave it there in their house to stay in Nassau and also helped them prep their house. They fed us pizza then we said our goodbyes as we headed to the apartment for our last night in Nassau for now.
Wednesday at 3 in the morning we woke up to get ready for our flight at 7. We left the house around 4 to the Seawell's house to drop off our car and Sister Seawel took us to the airport. We got to the airport and sat in line for about an hour, maybe less, then ran to catch our flight. Our flight didn't end up leaving until 7:45... Anyways, we land in Miami and we are looking for our next gate to our next flight. We make a left turn and I look behind me as we turn the corner and I saw a big Bell. Guess what that means... TACO BELL!!!🙌🏼 Elder call and I freaked out, bought Taco Bell, took selfies, then happily strolled away from our beloved Taco Bell. #Missionaccomplished
After those events of pure joy, we scrambled to find a place to get our tickets. We ended up waiting in another line for another hour to book a return flight to Miami from Jamaica that we will never need. Jamaica has to have evidence that we aren't staying in the country for very long... I don't know why that it but oh well. So we book it to our next flight and barely make it through the entry way before they locked up! We get on the plane and we sit down next to a Jamaican and chat Patious the whole ride! After we landed in Jamaica we went out to meet Sister Jones and her companion who I forgot the name to. They took us to the Montego Bay elders house where we were to stay the night. While we were there we cleaned their house, took a shower, took a 2 hour power nap, then talked with the other elders before we went to bed.
Thursday wasn't eventful whatsoever until we got a phone call from the Assistants telling us where we were to go while we waited to return to Nassau. Elder Christensen and Call went to Junction! I am with Elder Craig in May Pen. So that night the Browns picked us up, took us to Junction, then to May Pen.
Friday wasn't eventful either but we had weekly planning! Gotta love planning in an area that you don't fully serve in! Literally didn't plan anything but we still had the session to be obedient. Booya! Afterwards I tried making boiled dumpling but added too much water so we had to make a big thing of dumpling to save the little bit we had originally made. Then we went to see a convert that Elder Craig baptized while he servered here. It was a 45 minute walk from our house! Walking is gonna be the death of me! Had coordination at the church then had Friday night activities!
Saturday was full of walking as well. I don't know if I will survive walking in dress shoes for the last few months of my mission... I already have blisters... sad day... Anyways, we spent a lot of time looking for less active and inactive members. Gave a blessing to on of them's daughter.
Sunday was cool! I got to see the May Pen Branch for the first time and I also had to teach Gospel a Principles again! Yeah for teaching classes! Anyways, I had a really good, long talk with Sister Singleton about the Bahamas Zone and the privileges that we have in that zone. We are truly blessed! I also was able to talk to a member in Nassau and she told me that Nassau never lost power! So we could be back in Nassau faster than we thought!! Oh! I also got to see Jevon Hudson from Junction! He was in May Pen for church. He is waiting on his mission call as well!! I'm super excited for them!
If you aren't TRULY putting the Lord first on His day then please fix that! Please put Him first on His day. He does so much for us and asks so little of us in return so please show Him with your actions that you are willing to put Him first! He will bless us in so many ways! I know that He lives and loves each and everyone of us! Show your love for Him on His day by keeping it holy!!
I love you all! Pray for everyone that was hit by the hurricanes!

Week 42 There's a Hurricane coming but I ain't even scured!
Hey guys!
So on Monday Elder Greenwade and I went to do a lot of site seeing last week so we went to Bahamar, DelSol, and took Rayshawn to get blizzards! Afterwards we had a lesson with Sister Smith and gave all of them(5) blessing for school and work. It was cool to do those things for them because I remember having my dad do the same thing for us growing up!
Tuesday morning we went to breakfast with Brother Pierre and had pancakes, eggs, fruit and juice! It was the first time I have had pancakes since leaving home!#pancakesforlife After that we took our studies then to see Kenton who is awesome! We taught him the Plan of Salvation. We were supposed to see Danny but he rescheduled for Saturday. So we had a few hours to go finding. That night we had Paulette. We haven't been able to see here in forever. We met her husband and taught her the Apostasy and told her that she was gonna get her answer when she is reading on her own and not while we are there. That came back to bite us in the butt. We got a message from her saying that she wants to stop meeting with us for a while so she can read and pray and stuff without us. If she really does that she will get her answer but she has a lot of other doctrinal influence from her husband. Long story short, I'm a little nervous.
Wednesday morning was district meeting like always. A lot of our appointments fell through on that day as well so we had a lot of time to go finding. We went to Brother Williams house at 6 and he fed us some NIIIICCCEE baked chicken! We asked him to do a special fast with us for this fast Sunday so I called him on Saturday to remind him! I'm super excited for him to be active again in the branch. We also saw Noelda that night as well. We took Brother Watson with us to translate for us and they got a long very well!
Thursday morning we had service for Sister Meadows and Rayshawn. We spent the whole morning over there cleaning up their yard. They fed us breakfast and lunch! That day also fell through so we did quite a bit of contacting until we went to Sister Youte's house for dinner. We also saw Brother Jun. He is Chinese! Then right before we went home we stopped by Brother Thomas who just moved back from one of the other islands. He was a maninite growing up.
Friday we had Danny at the church and had an awesome lesson with him. He had a lot of questions about the Apostasy and stuff related to that and we were able to answer them all. He understood everything and is a very humble young man! We took lunch right after him so Greenwade could pack and do laundry and things like that. So we spent most of the day doing that. We drove to Bay Street to drop off a Book of Mormon to a referral then went to see a young man named Jay who is Jamaican. He was born in Kingston. We taught him the Plan of Salvation and helped him understand the importance of the decisions that me make in this life. That night we went to eat with Sister Charlene and Kizzy. We had a really nice dinner with them and dessert. They are awesome! Both of them hilarious. We tried to stop by Jackson and Maria but they weren't home and we couldn't wait for them because we had to get home.
Saturday we took Elder Greenwade to the airport and said good bye to him. We also got transfer calls! I will be receiving Elder Craig from Jamaica. He will arrive here in Nassau on Tuesday! Anyways, Saturday we spent most of the day at the house having our weekly planning. It was weird to plan the week out by myself but it was nice! We went and saw one of Christensen's and Call's investigators then we went to see Maria. We had some pretty good lessons with them even though we didn't plan on seeing them!
Sunday here was only 86 people at church... 6 of those were tourists. We had two investigators at church; Paulette and Demitri. I had to also teach Gospel Principles by myself because I didn't have a companion at the time! After church we went to the Cherenfant's for lunch, went to see Brother Pierre, then back to Cherenfant's to go to a church brother's house to look at his yard for service this week. After them we went to Sister Youte's house for dinner! We didn't eat it there though. We took it home and just had a lesson with her and her husband. We started a plan with them to have family prayer every day. I hope and pray that they do it!
It is very easy to not do the simple things that Heavenly Father has asked of us. It is very easy to do them as well. That being said, please please please stay strong in doing the simple things! They may be small but by small and simple means are great things brought to pass! Please read your scriptures. Please pray daily. Please go to church. I know that if you do these things, your relationship with God and others around you! He wants to hear from you! He wants to help you! He loves you! I love you all as well! Stay strong!
Not even scared about Hurricane Irma coming our way!💪🏼🌪⛈
