Week 66

Well, the weekly email didn't send so I will just send my testimony.

I am working on writing it in Haitian Creole right now as well so hopefully I will be able to share that with everyone soon! I know my Savior lives. I know that He loves each and everyone of us no matter what we have done! He is ALWAYS there for you! He will never leave you for the Adversary to have! I have seen His hands in a lot of peoples' lives and I have seen His mercy and love in my own life! I hope and Pray that everyone is trying their hardest to do what is right in the eyes of God. Sometimes it may see like the Commandments are overwhelming but they are for our safety. To quote one of my favorite songs before my mission, "The Man Upstairs gets it, so I ain't trynna fix it." He knows what he is doing. He knows what we are struggling with, what we face each and every day, what we keep bottled up. Everything!

HE LIVES AND LOVES YOU!!!

In the name of our Savior, Jesus the Christ, Amen.

Week 65 - Transfers

Hey Guys! You will never believe how many transfers I will now spend here in the Bahamas! We received Transfer Calls this last Saturday and I am staying here for another transfer! That makes 7 transfers here!

Monday we went to two FHE. The Ferdinand's and the Smith's. The kids were all excited to have missionaries over for that too.

Tuesday was District Meeting and District Lunch. We were supposed to take Joshua Dean to go see people with us that day as well but that didn't happen because he ended up working that day. We tried stopping by people anyways but we were not successful. Very Scattered day...

Wednesday morning we tried to do some office elder stuff with Brother Camilott but things were just not working out for us. We went home, had lunch, inspected our vehicles for the Office Elders in Jamaica, baked a cake for Sister Smith's then went to pick up Joshua. We had dinner at the Smith's and played some games with them. We then had to take Joshua to work so we dropped him off then headed home.

Thursday morning we were actually able to pay our light bill and run Camilott around a little for some Branch Business. We took him to get some Haitian food and had lunch with him. Thursday was also a slow day because everything we had planned fell through. No one was home, no once could go teaching with us, and no one answered their phones...

Friday was Weekly Planning and also Camilott's birthday so we did somethings at home after weekly planning then we took Camilott to dinner at OutBack Steakhouse. Then we tried to go see Nicolas but he wasn't home either. That concluded our day.

Saturday morning we received Transfer Calls. I am staying here in the Bahamas for another transfer and Elder Markwalter is still my companion. That morning we went to find an Inactive member named Brother Pascal. When we found him we had a Book of Mormon lesson with him just to get him reading again. Afterwards we then went to find another Inactive member named Sister Joseph. When we got to her we just shared a scripture with her and got to know her and her family. We then went to lunch and then took Camilott to see Nicolas so we could go see Nicolas' friend. He wasn't home though so we stopped by Brother Watson. While we were there I slammed my finger in the car door... Blonde still... After talking with Brother Watson we went to the Robasto's and had Filipino food for dinner.

Sunday was great! I got to shake hands with Elder Rasband's son! We had a ton of tourists come to church and one of them was him on a business trip! After church we had Branch Council then the Ferdinand's for lunch. We had Soup Joumou! It was so good! Man I love the Ferdinand's! Due to how late we got out of Branch Council and other matters with the Branch President and the Ferdinand's we only had an hour before we had another dinner appointment! Omar and Ashley wanted to feed us too so we went over there and ate more! And that was our day!

There is Power in the Book of Mormon!!

Love you Guys!

Week 64

Hey guys!

Monday we didn't do much. Elder Markwalter had school stuff to do so we stayed at the church for that. That night we were supposed to see a referral but they cancelled so we went to the Seawell's to get Elder Markwalter's package.

Tuesday we had District Meeting, District Lunch over Google Hangouts then we went to go get Joshua Dean. We tried to see Samantha but she wasn't home when we stopped by so we went to stop by some members that Joshua hasn't seen in a while. For dinner we went to the Seawell's.

Wednesday morning I had an appointment for my knee and the appointment literally lasted about 5 minutes. I sat down and three seconds later he called me in. I sat on the table and bent my knee a couple times to check for pain. He then straightened my legs and made me lift his hand as he was pressing down on my leg. I did it twice for both legs, he stood up, shook my hand and said, "Have a nice day." I am now cleared for my knee. Wow... Anyways, after that short trip went home and had studies and everything then went to the post office. We had most of the day fall through except for or two evening appointments. Paedencia and Sister Youte. Paedencia can talk I tell you what!

Thursday morning we tried to go see Kevin but he wasn't home so we checked a few other members in the area but they weren't home either. Took lunch then we tried to go see more members but ended up not happening. Oh well, so it goes sometimes. We also went to the Cherenfant's for dinner and we played some card games with their little kids.

Friday was Weekly Planning. After lunch we went to go see Brother Thomas in his house boat. He is taking care of an older couple and he also works for them so they are letting him stay in one of their boats. It's pretty nice too. Older but nice. We talked about the Book of Mormon and how he can start to become more knowledgeable in it and about Church History. It was fun! Later we tried to go see sister you because she could'nt see us the day before. We talked about a Book of Mormon reading chart for her and her children hoping that they use it to get back to church as well as read the Book of Mormon.

Saturday was spent at Sister Saintgill's house doing a service project. We had to fill in a hole in her kicthen that was about 8ft wide, 4ft long, and 3ft deep. It was supposed to be an Elders Quorum project but no one showed up so we went to get some church brothers that lived close by and we started filling it in for her. After we filled it in with rock and dirt she fed us lunch as we waited for a lady that she knows to do the cement over the rock and dirt. We took the two boys home then came back to help out again. The lady took about 2 hours to get there... Anyways we started mixing the cement and everything and started hauling it in. We finished the project around 7. There are two Less-Active boys that live in the same house and they helped us out too. We invited them both to church the next day too and one said he was coming!

Sunday we had about 10 Less-Actives come to church and half of them came because of the project that we did! After church we went to the Ferdinand's for lunch then took Brother Ferdinand to go find an Inactive lady. It took us a little bit to find her but we did. After we took Brother Ferdinand home we went to go see Wencie and her family. Half of them weren't home though. We then went to Sister Youte's house because she told us she was gonna cook dinner for us but she got home late so there was no food... Oh well!

I have really noticed how serving our fellow members in our States, Districts, Wards, or Branches can really help those that are Less-Active and Inactive. They see our love for them in the labor that we put in for them. I can truly testify of that! Show your love those that aren't active in the church and you just might see them the following Sunday!

Love you all!

Week 63

Hey Guys!

Monday we didn't do too much just ate pizza that a member bought us and shared it with Brother Camillot. We were supposed to have a District Leader Training with Elder Houston over Google Hangouts but he never had time to make it so that didn't happen.

Tuesday morning was District Meeting then we had lunch afterwards. We then went out to Joshua Dean's house to take him teaching with us. He is an RM from the JKM and we are teaching on of his former investigators, Samantha, from Jamaica! We then took him to the Seawell's for dinner. It was so cool to talk with him about his mission and to see how he taught while on his mission. Obviously he doesn't have the same authority like he used to but he still spoke very powerfully and lovingly to Samantha.

Wednesday morning we took studies early so we could go to the Whitney's for lunch. So funny story; here in the Bahamas the made new paper money that can not rip and is water proof. The Whitney's had a NEWER $10 bill but it wasn't the NEWEST one. BUT the ends of the bill were made with the NEWEST material. So, I was showing them that it couldn't rip and then I decided to turn it sideways... Ripped it right in half... Right in front of the Whitney's... My heart went straight to my feet! They just looked at me like, "What? We can fix it with tape!" They didn't even flinch about the fact that I ripped their $10 bill right in half! Anyways, the rest of our day fell through until about 7 when we went to Sister Scott's for a FHE. One of her friends from Idaho called her and she left me answer it. Her friend then decided to call my mother right afterwards to let her know that I had just talked to her haha. Anyways, we had the FHE and then she fed us so that was fun!

Thursday we did Immigration stuff and other office elder stuff. Went to go see Kevin but he wasn't home, took studies, tried to help Island with chores but she wouldn't let us, and then went to see Noelda. Not a whole lot happened that day.

Friday morning we had DLT with Elder Houston, tried climbing coconut trees, went and had lunch, had Weekly Planning, Discovered a new Trinity that we will be teaching in the upcoming District meeting and I will explain it next week to you! Afterwards we went and had a FHE with the Smith's and we even baked a cake for them. #besteldersever

Saturday morning we called a bunch of people to set up appointments for the coming week, had studies, lunch, then we tried to help Island with chores again but Camillot already beat us to it. He is now living in the same house as them. Went to pick up Joshua again but he wasn't home, tried to see Samantha but she was busy, picked up Latario to go see some people and then went home. Boring day, yeah I know. Not every day on the mission is eventful and fun.

Sunday morning was church then afterwards, of course, was the Ferdinand's for lunch. A lot of visitors from Idaho where at church this last week too! Tried to see Omar and Ashley but they were out, stopped by Island to check up on them and they decided to feed us as well abd Camillot made us a smoothie. We then went to take Kevin to see Wencie and her family. We read a Book of Mormon story with them and then played Black Magic with them. We blew their minds haha. Then we dropped off Kevin and went to see the Sinea's. Some of them are sick so Mark, Elder Markwalter, and I gave them blessings then went home.

This week I was given the opportunity to exercise the Priesthood with blessings. I gave four people blessings and I love the feeling every time I give one. I was able to be the Lord's mouth piece for that person to receive the blessing. I am very grateful for the Priesthood in which I am very humble to use. I pray that you all use the Priesthood for what it is given to us for. Blessings.

I love you all!
