Week 79

Hey guys!

Monday was crazy! We started off the day with a huge Zone Basketball game haha then went to the huge market in Kingston and shopped for really cheap food like mangoes, potatoes, bananas, etc.. Then we emailed and went and tried to see people.

Tuesday we tried to see Bishop Singh but he was busy. We wanted to take him to a members house who lost her leg so she could get a blessing and to also talk about shut ins for her. We had a Restoration lesson with a lady named Collaine. It was really cool. She has been taught by missionaries in the past too. While we were at Brother Smith's we got a call from the Assistants. There was a bunch of Emergency Transfers. Elder Christensen is now with Elder Edwards in Boulevard. Elder Hudson and I moved from the apartment we were in to the Zone Leaders house.

Wednesday morning is when we moved out. It took most of the day then we had studies at the end of the day and helped clean up. There was some activities that night at the church too. So we went to that and I played Cricket for the first time and man is that bat heavy! My baseball instinct kicked in and I crushed a ball onto the roof of the church and it never came down...

Thursday morning we started with studies then went to see Sister Lewis. We retaught her the Restoration lesson. It was interesting to reteach a member that. But we hope that it helped her out. Afterwards we went to the Robinson's and I ended up climbing their Mango tree for a bunch of mangoes to take home! I will have to ask for the video of it. We tried to see Sammoy but she wasn't home and the computer wasn't wanting to play the Restoration Video for the boys.

Friday morning was weekly planning. We also tried calling a bunch of people to set up appointments for the next week. That night was Friday NightActivities too. We played a lot of soccer.

Saturday morning we were supposed to do service for Sister Copeland but she wasn't home and the guy that we were supposed to help wasn't there either. So we went back and took lunch. We were supposed to go help Collaine do laundry so that she could make it to church on Sunday but she had already done it and was heading out for something. We tried stopping by Sammoy's again to watch the Video but they weren't getting home till later that night. So we went home and took studies for the last light bit of the day. Oh, and it was my 19th month mark.

Sunday I had to give a talk. I just quoted President Eyering for most of it though because he gave a talk on just what I was asked to talk on haha. After church we went to Sister Macpherson's for lunch and man is she a good cook too! After her we had interviews with President Pearson. He was about 45 minutes late for mine but that's alright! Everything runs on his time haha. After interviews we just went home for studies and such because it was getting late by that point.

I am truly grateful for the example people set in my life and in everybody else's lives all over the world. I wish some people would just open their eyes and see it haha but oh well. People also don't understand the role they have in other people's lives as well. The example you set for people around you, even when you think no one is watching, is probably the most important.

Love you all!

Week 77 - Mothers Day

Bojour Famn,

Monday morning we had a lesson with Mark and taught him the Repentance Process. Afterwards we took P-Day then had a lesson with Lisa. But Lisa wasn't there so we just read with Fae and her sister Ann Marie.

Tuesday morning we spent most of the morning looking through our Area Book calling a bunch of people that had been contacted by Missionaries in the past. We set up a bunch of appointments for the rest of the week. Afterwards we had lunch then went to have a lesson with some one but it fell through so we saw Brother Eddy. He talked the whole time we were there haha. We then went back and had a lesson with a lady named Janet. We taught her the Restoration and gave her a Book of Mormon.

Wednesday morning we had a lesson with a man named John. We also taught him the Restoration lesson and gave him a Book of Mormon. He loves the missionaries now! The rest of that day was crazy because we walked all over the place. People kept falling through. We went and saw Sister Sandy and talked about reading her Book of Mormon with her Bible every morning because normally she just reads her Bible.

Thursday morning was District Meeting and we talked about ways that we can help each other get our investigators more interested in coming to church and to progress. We also talked about how we can get the members more involved with missionary work. Afterwards we walked down to the Fire Station to see Sister Duncan but she wasn't feeling too well. That afternoon it rained a ton so we just sat there trying to figure out what we were gonna do. After it stopped most of our appointments fell through so we went up to the old house to sweep it and mop it out.

Friday morning we had a lesson with a lady named Althea. We talked about the Book of Mormon because she has met with missionaries before. Afterwards we went back home to have Weekly Planning Session. In the middle of it we got our transfer calls. I am going to Kingston to be with Elder Hudson and Elder Christensen, my trainer! I will be his last companion! Craziness! Anyways, we tried to see a lady at the Jackson's but she wasn't there. Tried to see Mark but he wasn't home. And most of our other peopled fell through too.

Saturday morning we had a lesson with Mark and President Francis. We watched the Restoration Video and Mark noticed a lot of cool things about the Saints when Joseph was trying to get everything up and running.Afterwards we tried to see Lisa but she wasn't awake yet so we had lunch then tried to see John again. He wasn't home so we went to see Janet who also wasn't home. WE tried to see Lisa again but this time she was in town. People kept falling through! We went down to Ochi to do some Branch business then we walked up to the Jackson's and the Johnson's just to remind them about church. We then went home for the night and took studies.

Sunday was my last Sunday in Ochi and I had a surprise Testimony call. I took pictures with people that I will load later. After church I got to skype my Mother and the family. After them we went back to the house and got soaked on the way home. I wasn't too happy after that. We had lunch then went back down for Elder Erickson to Skype his family.

I am truly grateful for my family and everything that they do for me. I didn't get too much time here in Ochi but I am grateful for everyone here! I hope every one else had a great week as well!

Love you all!

Week 76 - 18 Months

Hey guys!

Monday I don't remember what we did for P-Day. Probably nothing fun. We had a lesson with a lady named Donnett. She wants to learn from us because we know a lot of doctrine and we understand most of it so we are trying to figure out how interested she is in being baptized or not. It took most of the night to find her house and to travel home so she took most of the night.

Tuesday morning we went up to Sister Sandy but she wasn't home so we went to see Brother Hewitt who lives across the street. We had a few things fall through so we tried to stop by the fire station to see Sister Duncan but she wasn't there. We had lunch then went and had more lessons fall through.

Wednesday I was on a trade off with Elder Hatch. He came into my area so we went to go see Patricia who is a Pentecostal. She talked a lot about the Godhead and also about how every one has power given them through the word of Christ. It was a good lesson. She caught herself changing scriptures though so that was good! We saw Sister Bridgemahan at the church and followed up with her sharing the gospel with her coworkers. Went and had a FHE with the Jackson's. She talked a lot about wanting to get back to the temple! On our way home we stopped by Mark with President Francis. That lesson was just a stress reliever for Mark. It was good for him to have his old friend there to talk too.

Thursday morning was District Meeting at the church. After we were supposed to go on a trade off with the Zone Leaders but due to our day falling through and rain we did a lot of Area Book stuff to try and help us get more investigators. Elder Egan and I then went to see Lisa. She wasn't home but we did see Fae and Ann Marie. The Zone Leaders stayed the night too.

Friday was Weekly Planning Session. We tried to see Shy that afternoon but that didn't happen. Went and had an awesome FHE with the Richardson's! Brother Richardson was the one who Baptized Camillott in the Bahamas! So we talked a lot about the Bahamas. She gave me my other scripture case too. Afterwards we went to a FHE with the Johnson's. It was a good opportunity to meet Sister Johnson. We have not met the mother before that night.

Saturday we spent the whole day cleaning the house and packing up to move to a nicer house down the road. I also got to burn my pants for my 18th Month Mark! Elder Harris was there and Elder Rasmussen!

Sunday was Fast and Testimony Meeting. We had to do Fast Offerings after church then we headed home for lunch and studies. We stopped by Lisa's house to see why they didn't make it to church. We talked a lot about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Repentance Process. On our way home we ran into Mark and we set up a time to see him on Monday.

This week was a little rough with appointments falling through but that's missionary work for you! Not every one will keep appointments or commitments. I hope every one back home is still studying their Book of Mormon! I have been reading mine every day and am on track to finish it twice before I return home!

I love you all!
