Week 70 Zone Conference in Nassau

Hey guys!

Sorry this email is coming a day late but better later than never!

Monday was P-Day and we had lunch with our Branch President and another member. Did a lot of in and out of the church all that day so I wasn't able to email.

Tuesday morning was District Meeting then District Lunch. We ran around paying a light bill, set up a bunch of dinner appointments for the weekend, bought water for our house, and had Comp Study for Zone Conference. The whole day we were also trying to get the weekend scheduled out for all of the missionaries to come to Nassau. We tried to see a lady we met at the Immigration building but we couldn't get a hold of her.

Wednesday was a day of foolishness. We had to work with Insurance to get information on a vehicle that Elders Christensen and Harrah wrecked, had to argue with them over a rental car, had to wait on the dealership to get us info on the wrecked car, had to look up a bunch of rectal places so we could at least have another car to drive around with the other missionaries, etc.. A huge headache and no help from anyone to do anything. NO ONE DID ANYTHING!! That night the Robasto's bought us pizza and we took Latario to see Paedencia.

Thursday was another day full of foolishness by the Assistants (Elders named above). We were told that all of our missionaries coming into Nassau would have to walk when they get here! NOOOOOO!!! I am not even kidding you, we were so upset with that! Then the AP's called all of our missionaries and told them that! Foolishness was done instead of Service! We did have a really good Comp Study on what we were gonna share at Zone Conference though so that made our day somewhat better. We then had a lesson with Junior and Lindsay. We had to keep it short because we had to go pick up the Freeport Elders from the airport. After we dropped them off at home we had to go back to the airport to pick up the Cayman Elders who bought McDonalds for everyone! That was a blast!

Friday we had exchanges so we were in Trios the whole day. I was with Elders Houston and Jensen. We started off the day with the car so we drove to see Sister Jaky Joseph. We had a really good lesson on prayer and we set goals with her to help her build her relationship with God. We then went to the beach to take some pictures. Afterwards we went to Popeye's for lunch with the other three Elders. We then rode the bus Downtown to get the Elders some souvenirs then walked up Market Street to see a few members on the way back towards the house. We then rode the bus back to the house to deal with the AP's foolishness again then drove to the Seawell's for Dinner with 8 Elders! Before we ate, Elder Markwalter and I went to pick up the Turks Sisters. There were 10 missionaries in the Seawell Home and it was a blast! The whole time we were their I was stressed out of my mind because of foolishness but everything was a blast!

Saturday was Zone Conference and All the Elder, except for the AP's, wore a maroon floral tie that Elder Evans bought for everyone! And the Sisters both wore red floral shirts with black skirts! Talk about Zone Unity! Zone Conference was a blast! Again, I was stressed out, but everything worked out great! We had a member provide lunch for us, we played basketball afterwards, then had another member provide dinner for us! Afterwards, Elders Markwalter, Evans and I took the Sisters out to buy some souvenirs at the mall. While there, Elder Evans bought me a visor, himself a shirt, and bought both the Sisters DQ Blizzards! He is such an Awesome missionary!

Sunday was my last Sunday in Nassau!! It was so fun though because we had so many missionaries there! After church we took tons of pictures and then headed to the Ferdinand's for lunch! That was also my last lunch at the Ferdinand's home!... After lunch Elders Markwalter, Evans and I took the Sisters to the Seawell's so they could meet Brother Seawell. We stayed there and had fun with them all then headed back Downtown for the Sisters to take pictures nect to paintings on the walls. We then took them home and we all started to pack up for the flights back to the islands.

I will never forget this Zone that I am so privileged to be a Zone Leader of! I have learned so much from my missionaries and I hope that they have all learned from me! I had a blast with all of them and I am truly grateful for all of them!

I hope everyone has a great week and have a great General Conference Weekend! Happy Easter! Love you all!

Week 68

Hey guys, this email might be a little boring because we did a lot of Office Elder work this week.

Monday we took a reverse P-Day so we had District Leader Training that morning then we had an appointment with Omar and Ashley. We just read the Introduction to the Book of Mormon through 1 Nephi 1 including all the testimonies.

Tuesday morning we had District Meeting and District Lunch. Then I had to go to the Bahamas Medical Center to get a Medical Report for Immigration stating that I am in good health and everything. That took most of the day so we then went to have dinner at the Seawell's house.

Wednesday morning I had to go get a Police Report stating that I am not owing the Government any money for tickets or anything. We thought that was gonna take all day but it took like 10 minutes. So we headed to the National Insurance Board building to state getting things done over there for me to renew my work permit here in The Bahamas. That is the one that took all day. I do not like sitting around waiting for stuff like this. After all that we went to go check up on Paedencia. We didn't have a male with us so we couldn't have a lesson. She isn't showing to much effort in making changes in her life though. We aren't too sure how long we will keep teaching her if she keeps this up.

Thursday morning Elder Markwalter and I were planning for the day and we both got the prompting to call the Seawell's to see if they needed any help moving. Brother Seawell got called into work that day so Sister Seawell invited us to go help her out. We spent the whole day boxing things up, hauling it in and out of rooms and to trucks, then unloading it and organizing it in their new house. Throughout the day Sister Seawell had to leave to go pick up her kids from school so she wasn't always there to direct the guys that were moving their stuff so she explained it all to us then she left. The stress level on the Seawell's that day was through the roof! We turned a three day move into one and a half days! At the end of the day they fed us a small dinner amid all the boxes of stuff in their new kitchen and dinning room. It was a great day!

Friday morning we ran back over to the NIB building to do more work there with my work permit. that took all morning. We then had lunch then went to Weekly Plan. We went to Wencie's house again for a FHE. We walked to Paedencia's house again to see if she wanted to go with us but she wasn't feeling to well. This time Trevor taught on Jealousy and how we shouldn't covet after things that other people have.

Saturday morning we went to play basketball again. Afterwards we went to the church to help Brother Blanc clean a few rooms. While we were there Brother Camillott came over with the Key Guy to make copies of keys. So we helped him get all the keys sorted out and how many we need of what key. After we were done with Camillott we called Sister Seawell to see if she wanted us to go clean the house they just moved out of for them. She said yes so we drove out to their new place, got the keys and the cleaning stuff, drove back to their old place and cleaned from about 2 to 6. That house looks (almost) brand new! We hauled a bunch of stuff back to the new house that the mover guys left behind and they again fed us a small dinner. I loved helping the Seawells! Brother Seawell has been on the clock almost all week, Sister Seawell has been stressed about moving into the house without his help and then not having enough space for all their stuff in the new house and just a whole heep of things! Heavenly Father answered their prayers through us and He also answered our prayers about helping them more because of all the things they do for us and for the JKM.

Sunday morning it poured! Flooded almost everything! The Yaris could barely make it anywhere! We had to clean the front door of the church because there is a leak in the roof and we couldn't park in our parking lot. Hardly anyone was at church. We had about 40 people there with 4 tourists. After church we had Branch Council then we went to Brother Smith's house for dinner with Sister Charlene, Sister Kemp, President Cherenfant, and Brother Saint-Natus. Afterwards we went to the Ferdinand's to grab food and take it to Sister Whitney then we went back to the church to print off some marriage stuff for Omar and Ashley. We took it over to them and had a short follow up with them. We tried to see the Sinea's but their road was flooded so we went home and studied for District Meeting this coming Tuesday.

Week 67 - 16 Months

Hey guys!

So this last week was the beginning of the new transfer and also my 16th month mark so that's cool!

Monday was P-Day, didn't really do much just hung around then went to see the Smith's and the Ferdinand's. That was my 16th Month Mark day haha.

Tuesday morning was District Meeting and Elder Evans is our new District Leader. He did amazing! He asked us all a lot of questions to ponder on. We then had District lunch with everyone over Hangouts. We helped Brother Camillott with some of his Pathway so he could go see Brother Nicolas with us. We drove over to Nicolas' house but he wasn't home so we called and scheduled a time for Wednesday. We then had the Seawell's for dinner.

Wednesday was Mission Leadership Counsel and it took all day long... From 10am to 4pm. All we could do was listen to it because the wifi at the Mission Home sucks haha. We could reply to it and everything but it wasn't that great. After all that we went to see Paedencia. We just read 1 Nephi 1 with her and challenged her to keep reading. The rest of the night was spent driving because traffic is terrible...

Thursday morning we went to Immigration to get information on Work Permits. The lady that was talking to us about it all was interrogating us about it all though! I told her that I have been here for almost 9 months now and she stared me down! Lady, didn't your parents tell you that it was rude to stare? Anyways, After all that we went to DHL to get papers from Jamaica for Work Permits and then had lunch. We then went to Nicolas' and taught him about the Priesthood that he will be receiving soon! We then went to see a referral from the Blanc's. They don't speak English so we took Brother Blanc with us to translate. It was a really good lesson on the Restoration and the Liv Momon An (Book of Mormon in Creole).

Friday was Weekly Planning like always. We tried to go see Brother Kevin Blair but he was home so we went and had lunch. We also tried stopping by Sister Joseph but she wasn't home. We then went to pick up Brother Latario to go see Wencie's kids. One of her kids actually taught the lesson and did a really good job! We then took that same girl with Latario to go see the Julmis Family. We read the Book of Mormon in Creole with them! It was really cool to read it out loud in Creole! Hopefully I can learn it fast!

Saturday morning we went to the basketball court with Latario and Trevor, one of Wencie's boys. We met some really cool people there too! Hopefully one of the guys named Ken will have an appointment with us this week! After we got home and cleaned up we took studies then went to see Nicolas and a friend of his. His friend is a 7th Day Adventist and all he wanted to do was prove to us that we are breaking the Sabbath Day commandment by having church on Sunday... That took most of the night too because we were running around trying to find another brother to go with us to translate for us. Cammillott saved the day though!

Sunday was Fast and Testimony Meeting. We had a ton of tourists in this week as well. After church we went to the Ferdinad's for lunch and then we checked up on Omar and Ashley. They weren't at church like they said they were gonna be so we stopped by them to grill them for a minute then we had to go for a Reach Out Night with the Relief Society and the Elders Quorum. Only 8 of us were there... I went with Brother Kemp. None of the people that we went to check were home so we didn't have too much success at all.

I hope and pray that none of us get lazy in our callings or even in our membership of the Church! I hope that I never get to the point that I do not want to attend because I feel like I am not fitting in, over burdened, under burdened, etc.. I hope that every one else will start to get that way as well! Not saying that any one readying this right now is that way. Going Inactive is not what our Father in Heaven wants us to do! The Church is Perfect! The People in it are not!

I love you all and hope you all have a great week!
