Week 67 - 16 Months

Hey guys!

So this last week was the beginning of the new transfer and also my 16th month mark so that's cool!

Monday was P-Day, didn't really do much just hung around then went to see the Smith's and the Ferdinand's. That was my 16th Month Mark day haha.

Tuesday morning was District Meeting and Elder Evans is our new District Leader. He did amazing! He asked us all a lot of questions to ponder on. We then had District lunch with everyone over Hangouts. We helped Brother Camillott with some of his Pathway so he could go see Brother Nicolas with us. We drove over to Nicolas' house but he wasn't home so we called and scheduled a time for Wednesday. We then had the Seawell's for dinner.

Wednesday was Mission Leadership Counsel and it took all day long... From 10am to 4pm. All we could do was listen to it because the wifi at the Mission Home sucks haha. We could reply to it and everything but it wasn't that great. After all that we went to see Paedencia. We just read 1 Nephi 1 with her and challenged her to keep reading. The rest of the night was spent driving because traffic is terrible...

Thursday morning we went to Immigration to get information on Work Permits. The lady that was talking to us about it all was interrogating us about it all though! I told her that I have been here for almost 9 months now and she stared me down! Lady, didn't your parents tell you that it was rude to stare? Anyways, After all that we went to DHL to get papers from Jamaica for Work Permits and then had lunch. We then went to Nicolas' and taught him about the Priesthood that he will be receiving soon! We then went to see a referral from the Blanc's. They don't speak English so we took Brother Blanc with us to translate. It was a really good lesson on the Restoration and the Liv Momon An (Book of Mormon in Creole).

Friday was Weekly Planning like always. We tried to go see Brother Kevin Blair but he was home so we went and had lunch. We also tried stopping by Sister Joseph but she wasn't home. We then went to pick up Brother Latario to go see Wencie's kids. One of her kids actually taught the lesson and did a really good job! We then took that same girl with Latario to go see the Julmis Family. We read the Book of Mormon in Creole with them! It was really cool to read it out loud in Creole! Hopefully I can learn it fast!

Saturday morning we went to the basketball court with Latario and Trevor, one of Wencie's boys. We met some really cool people there too! Hopefully one of the guys named Ken will have an appointment with us this week! After we got home and cleaned up we took studies then went to see Nicolas and a friend of his. His friend is a 7th Day Adventist and all he wanted to do was prove to us that we are breaking the Sabbath Day commandment by having church on Sunday... That took most of the night too because we were running around trying to find another brother to go with us to translate for us. Cammillott saved the day though!

Sunday was Fast and Testimony Meeting. We had a ton of tourists in this week as well. After church we went to the Ferdinad's for lunch and then we checked up on Omar and Ashley. They weren't at church like they said they were gonna be so we stopped by them to grill them for a minute then we had to go for a Reach Out Night with the Relief Society and the Elders Quorum. Only 8 of us were there... I went with Brother Kemp. None of the people that we went to check were home so we didn't have too much success at all.

I hope and pray that none of us get lazy in our callings or even in our membership of the Church! I hope that I never get to the point that I do not want to attend because I feel like I am not fitting in, over burdened, under burdened, etc.. I hope that every one else will start to get that way as well! Not saying that any one readying this right now is that way. Going Inactive is not what our Father in Heaven wants us to do! The Church is Perfect! The People in it are not!

I love you all and hope you all have a great week!

Elder Wilding
